Tips for travelling around the Philippines

Vibrant and diverse, the Philippines has a lot to offer. Make the most of your trip with these tips:

Best time to visit

The dry season (December to April) is the most popular, but March and April can get steamy. Typhoon season runs from June to November.

Pack smart

Light, breathable clothing is best for the tropical climate. Don’t forget sunscreen, bug repellant, rain gear, and cash (in remote regions, cash is still king).

Embrace all forms of transport

Short-hop flights between islands are affordable and easy, as are ferries. In cities, Jeepneys—colourful mini buses—offer a fun way to explore.

Try the street food

Choose stalls with long lines of locals for the freshest food.

Haggling is an art

It’s expected in markets but keep it friendly. Who knows, you might bag a bargain.
