How to make the most of Falls Festival

Reading time: 3 minutes

Celebrating 25 years in the game, Falls Festival is back, serving up the finest acts to take you through to 2019 in style.

Whether you’ve already bagged your ticket or you’re planning to, here’s everything you need to know about this iconic Australian music festival.

Who’s playing this year?

Ever since its launch in 1993, Falls Festival has delivered some of Australia’s most jaw-dropping lineups, and it seems 2018 is the cherry on top. Over the new year period, lucky festival-goers will get the chance to witness some of Australia’s best homegrown talent and a variety of eclectic international acts – with some music legends thrown in for good measure!

In preparation for the summer event of the year, here are some of the must-see music acts playing at Falls Festival.

Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals

Their 2018 Australian tour sold out in a matter of minutes. Praised for being “one of the best entertainers we’ve got right now” by NPR, Falls Festival fans are in for a treat as one of California’s finest is sure to put on a show that’s going to be memorable.

Catfish and the Bottlemen

With 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, a Brit Award under their collective belts and playing a plethora of sold out worldwide shows, English indie rockers Catfish and the Bottlemen are bringing their gritty guitar riffs to Falls Festival this summer. Sing-a-long to the likes of ‘Cocoon’, ‘7’ and ‘Postpone’, as the boys from Britain take to the stage.

Amy Shark

Not many artists are able to say that their debut album went straight to number one. But if you’re Australian-born singer songwriter Amy Shark, you can. After her breakout single ‘Adore’ reached 3 x platinum status, Amy Billings has gone on to win 2 APRA awards, another number of accolades and even managed to secure the supporting slot for SIA. We expect this Aussie superstar to draw in a large crowd when she plays Falls Festival.

Toto

“It’s gonna take a lot to drag me away from you, there’s nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do.” While you may be more familiar with singing these famous lyrics in a bar or at a party, Falls Festival are giving you the chance to sing along to Africa with the rock gods themselves: Toto.

The above three acts are just the tip of the iceberg. Attendees can also get set to enjoy Vance Joy, DMA’S, Interpol and Chvrches, amongst many more that are yet to be announced!
