What is Multi-trip travel insurance?
If you're a frequent flyer, or like to split your holidays over a year, then Multi-trip travel insurance – sometimes referred to as annual travel insurance may be an option to consider. Our Multi Trip plan covers you for as many trips as you like over 12 months, provided they:
- Are no longer than either 15, 30 or 45 days (as selected by you at the time of purchase)
- Start and end at your home in Australia, and
- Are to a destination of at least 250km from your home in Australia.
Our policy covers you for holidays and business trips, as well as journeys across Australia and worldwide.
TID travel insurance Multi-trip plan can include:

What does TID’s Multi-trip plan cover?
Our multi-trip policy has all the benefits of our comprehensive travel insurance with the added benefit of travelling domestically and worldwide multiple times throughout the year. It’s the only one of our policies which covers multiple trips. So, if you know you’re going on more than one trip this year then this plan may be an option for you.

†A default limit for Cancellation is automatically included in your cover unless you make a selection. However, you can choose different levels of cover from the amounts available to you when you purchase your policy. Any benefit limit selected by you will be shown on your Certificate of Insurance. The benefit limit shown will be the most we will pay for all claims under Benefit 2.1 Cancellation.
Why should I consider a Multi-trip policy?
If you're looking at your calendar and can spot a few holidays on the horizon, you may want to consider a multi-trip policy.
When you buy a Multi Trip policy, you'll have cover for 12 months from the start date of your policy. You'll also have pre-trip cover that starts when you buy the policy. The start date must be within 6 months of your purchase.

Multi-trip travel insurance FAQs
You can travel as many times as you like during the 12months of your cover. However, each trip you take cannot exceed the maximum journey period, as chosen by you at the time of purchase. You can choose from up to 15 days, up to 30 days or up to 45 days. The number of days you choose will be shown on your Certificate of Insurance.
Yes. When you’re buying your Multi-trip travel insurance policy, you’ll have the option to add additional cover for adventure activities, snow sports or ocean cruising. You’ll also be able to adjust your cancellation cover, as well as increase cover for high value items - like jewellery, cameras or mobile phones.
When purchasing a Multi-trip policy you will be required to make full upfront payment before the policy can be issued.
It depends if you’re travelling with children or not. Named adults can travel separately to any other named adult on your plan. However, children are only covered while accompanying an adult named on your Certificate of Insurance.
