Experience the flavour of South America in Brazil
When you think South America, what is one of the first things that comes to mind? For us, it’s Brazil that jumps out!
There is so much to do in this vibrant country. We have to say, it’s not a destination for the faint-hearted – there is adventure around every corner! Here’s a list of just some of the things you can do when visiting Brazil.
If you’re a millennial, then you probably do a lot of picture-taking for your Instagram feed. And what does better on social media than a photo of a stunning waterfall? Head on over to Iguazu Falls for this spectacular sight. These falls are on the border of Argentina and Brazil and are comprised of 275 individual falls. They all come together to form a U-shape with some serious intensity.
You’ve probably heard of Copacabana Beach because of its famous white sand beach, of course, but perhaps by Barry Manilow’s song, too! The Copacabana is a major destination for visitors due to four kilometres of sand that are filled with exciting things to do. Whether you enjoy sunbathing or playing a little soccer, you can do it all here.
Pão de Açúcar
If you love a good view, then you have to head to Pão de Açúcar. There are two cable cars that run to the summit which towers 396 metres above Rio. Once you get to the top, look out over the city and admire the hustle from above. Go first thing on a sunny morning to avoid crowds and clouds! That’s how you’ll get the best view.
Christ the Redeemer
Of course, if you’re going to Brazil, you can’t miss Corcovado Christ the Redeemer. This famous statue took nine years to construct. It stands at 98 feet tall and is covered in six million stone tiles. It is truly a sight to behold once you are in front of it. And, fun fact, you can actually get married in the church located at the base of the statue!
It is exciting to travel to a foreign country, especially one like Brazil, but you don’t want to go without getting a little protection first. For all the exploring that you’re going to do, be sure to pick up some travel insurance in case of any hiccups!
