Destination Guide: Thailand

Most people find travel in Thailand to be relatively easy and economical. Of course a little preparation will go a long way towards making your trip even more hassle-free and fun.

When to go

The weather in Thailand is reasonable most times of year, although it certainly gets hot during the summer and the rainy season (July to October) should be avoided if possible. November through February are the coolest times of year and there is certainly less rain then than at other times.

Thailand's seasons are reasonably uniform through the country, but there are some regional differences. Basically Thailand has three seasons: summer, rainy and winter. The southern part of Thailand however does not have a winter.

What to take

  • Pack light wash-and-wear clothes
  • A sweater/pullover for chilly evenings and mornings in northern Thailand during the the cool season (December and January).
  • Slip-on shoes or sandals are highly recommended - they are easy to remove before entering a Thai home or temple.

Right there. When you're in need.
